Why Jones Soda and Vitamin Angels?

This year, instead of doing a traditional ad campaign, we decided to spend our money helping children in need. Vitamin Angels is an organization unlike most others. It reaches across international boundaries and lends a helping hand to children around the world. Jones Soda has always been involved in the philanthropic community and by pairing with Vitamin Angels, we now have the chance to do something completely different and help people on an international level. We recognized the effectiveness and simplicity of Vitamin Angels’ solution and knew we wanted to be a part of it. By creating this short video we hope to prevent 1,000,000 children from going blind this year. We simply want to make a difference and as always, we want you to join us.

What is Vitamin Angels?

Vitamin Angels was started in 1994 after the Northridge Earthquake in California. Howard Schiffer, who had been a part of the vitamin industry for many years, got a call. They wanted to know: Could he get vitamins to the victims suffering from the after-effects of the earthquake? The light bulb went on, Howard said, “YES!!,” and Vitamin Angels was born. Vitamin Angels has since evolved and grown and is now addressing chronic malnutrition on a global level.

What Does Vitamin Angels Do?

Vitamin Angels is a non-profit organization that provides vital nutrition in the form of supplements to developing countries, communities and individuals in need. We are facing a global crisis. One of the quickest and most efficient ways to alleviate this crisis is to address micronutrient deficiencies, especially in children. When kids get the nutrition they need, they are able to perform in school and be active and healthy. When moms get prenatal nutrition they are less likely to hemorrhage during childbirth. When kids get enough vitamin A they’re less likely to have vision loss. Vitamin Angels was started because it wanted to make a difference. And now it offers you the same opportunity.
