Mr. Peter Van Stolk, President of Urban Juice & Soda Company Ltd. ("UJS") , is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Les Tomlin to Vice President, Sales & Distribution, with the potential to quickly move to Chief Operating Officer of Urban Juice & Soda, overseeing both sales and production.
Mr. Tomlin comes to Urban with over eight years of sales and production experience in the beverage industry. Mr. Tomlin held increasingly senior positions in sales and production at Cott Corporation ("Cott") over a six year period and during Cott's growth in revenues from CAD $30 Million to $1.5 Billion. Prior to Cott, Mr. Tomlin was with Pepsi-Cola Canada Limited.
At Cott, Mr. Tomlin initially held the position of Sales Manager for Cott Beverages Canada, the founding division of Cott, and was responsible for managing sales of Cott Beverages Canada and foreign new business development. Mr. Tomlin was then promoted to General Manager of Cott Distributors USA Inc., and then appointed as a Vice President of Cott and General Manager of Cott Beverages USA Inc., responsible for all sales, marketing and production of private label and control-brand soft drinks and alternative beverages. Mr. Tomlin was then promoted to Vice-President/Director of the Cott Appia Division, responsible for manufacturing, distribution and sales of Cott's Canadian branded line.
Mr. Tomlin is a proven beverage sales executive, with excellent relationships both in the beverage manufacturing industry and retail chain accounts, with sales experience in the U.S., Canada and the offshore and a proven ability to assist in the growth of a small beverage company to one of considerable size. At Urban, Mr. Tomlin will initially be responsible for the full execution of sales of Jones Soda and WAZU into U.S. and Canadian markets. Mr. Tomlin will lead Urban's sales force to optimize existing distribution of its brands, expand distribution in optimal areas and establish and supervise key trade and distributor relations.
Urban sees enormous potential with Les at the helm of Urban's sales team. Urban is thrilled to have attracted the attention of such a seasoned sales executive which it did through word-of-mouth in Toronto as well as the CTV one-half hour show devoted to Urban, which aired across Canada in November.
