Young Audiences

Jones Soda and Young Audiences Arts for Learning (YA) began their partnership in early 2014 with the launch of the Jones Soda Photography Curriculum, which was created to teach kids about the art of photography. For this very worthy cause, Jones Soda enlisted its original photographer and designer, Victor John Penner, to help teach the course and serve as a mentor to the students. We also brought in partner GoPro who assisted us on the donation of cameras for this curriculum. At the end of each 10-week program, a winning photo from one of the students is selected to appear nationally on a Jones Soda label.

The curriculum was first launched at Urban Promise Academy in Oakland, California. Given the overwhelmingly positive response for the program, Jones Soda and YA partnered for a second time in 2014 to replicate the curriculum at St. Martin de Porres High School in Cleveland, Ohio, where student Brandi Herring had her photo selected to appear on a Jones label in 2015 across North America.
